Of course, we have much more children who need your support than just those four bright kids but we want to give you the opportunity to start helping right now. Please take a close look and Wish those kids a Happy New Year by enabling them to go to school.
Diana Wanyenze
Diana was born in 2002 and is currently living with her aunt in Kibera Slum. Both her parents died. She is the youngest of four sibling and cannot go to school due to a lack of money for the high school fees.
I met her on the DiGuNa camp in Mbagathi and she kept real quiet but laughed alot. She is always together with her friend Elizabeth who is also an orphan. The parents of the two of them died of AIDS.
Joseph Opiyo
Joseph is 8 years old and lost his mother a long time ago. He lives with his father and 3 siblings in Kibera. His fathers income though is not enough for them to go to school and sometimes they don't even have anything to eat. Joseph would be going to first grade right now but instead he stays at home which is a 10sqm hut made from mud and straw. He is Elizabeths brother and also Dianas neighbor. I also met him on the Diguna Camp where he fascinated by my camera. I had to explain it to him and he wanted to take so many pictures and of course have pictures taken of him and his friend. He figured out the Zoom real well.
Elizabeth Opiyo
Elizabeth ist Josephs sister and as I said Dianas best friend. They live next to each other and spend most of their time together. She would go to the 4th class right now but there is no money for the school fees and sometimes not even for basic meals. Nevertheless she is a joyful girl and really bright. Just like Joseph and Diana she would really appreciate any help to her and her family. Those are people in our world that absolutely need it.
Chunu Dido
Chunu is Dahabus niece, the girl which I visited last week in Kibera Slum. So she lives in the house you can see in the earlier pictures. Next to Dahabu and both of her jobless parents, she has 2 older and 2 younger siblings. Everyone but Dahabus, who has a sponsor, is not going to school. She would attend the 2nd class right now.
Chunu is a fantastic girl, really cute and her eyes look at you like stars. When I first met her family she was wearing her traditional black dress, as her family is muslim, and was washing water canisters. Her family is from the north of Kenya and therefore they all look alittle bit ethiopian to me. Other than Suaheli they also speak another language which is called Boran.
These four kids have a hard life. Many times there is not enough to eat, they have to work hard in their young age and going to school remains a dream. But what is so fantastic about those children is the way they appreciate any help given. You can be sure of hard efforts and good grades of you enable them to go to school since those poor children do not waste opportunities.
